Quince

The quince comes from the family of the Rosaceae and the tree can reach a height of 4-5 meters.It can be cultivated in the amount of 10 to 1000 m in almost all regions. It grows in warm and permeable sand-loamy soil. The production can be made with the seeds, root shoots and cuttings. The cultivation of quince extends over Anatolia, Greece up to Italy. It is said that in 650 BC Christ was first cultivated in Greece and that was forbidden in other European countries. The quince grows everywhere except in Australia. Turkey is coming first in production with 100 thousand tons a year. In second place there is China with 85,000 tons.
