Satsuma

Satsuma mandarin was brought to Turkey by Batum from Japan in early 1900s. It is yellow-orange in color and slightly rough during the harvesting season. The crust is not so tightly attached to the flesh of the fruit, it is loose to say. It is even easier to remove the shell from the meat after the maturation period. The shape of the fruit is a look to be tried. The view is dark orange. Taste and fragrance are intense. Compared to other mandarin varieties can be considered as a seedless species. It is also a very efficient variety of mandarin, it can produce regular efficiency even in bad weather conditions. Fruits begin to ripen from October and soon they will not have fruit on the tree. So it is an early type of mandarin. It is mostly grown in areas where there is no northerly wind, in the south and south facing areas.
